Uno de los problemas que encontre en mi Ubuntu Feisty fue que no podia instalar Flash Player en Firefox porque tengo procesador 64 bits, asi que buscando encontre la solucion en los foros de Ubuntu y te la resumire para que soluciones si tienes el mismo problema.

La solucion es instalar Swiftfox es el mismo Firefox 2.0 que ya conocemos, pero compilado con optimizaciones especiales para microprocesadores “intel” y “amd”.

Instalacion

1. Lo tienes que bajar de aqui.
2. Abres una terminal.
3. Luego tecleas  sudo sh install-swiftfox.sh
4. Y listo ya tienes en el menu aplicaciones, internet, Swiftfox.

El dia de ayer recibi los Cd´s de Ubuntu 7.04 y me decidi a instalarlo de una vez en mi Latitud D620 la version anterior no me funciono de un solo habia que instalarle los drivers 915, para mi Aceleradora Grafica Intel, asi que empece con incertidumbre haber si solucionaron el problema y si lo solucionaron asi que decidi seguir con la instalacion y al ver en el menu de preferencias en la opcion de desktop decia habilitar efectos y para mi sorpresa tenia una serie minima de efectos Beryl sin que tener que instalarle nada, pero yo queria mas asi que le instale Beryl completo y sin ningun problema en un par de simples paso, me gusta mucho como se va desarrollando Ubuntu y para los que no lo han probado le animo a que se lo bajen y lo instalen que no tendran nada que envidiarle a Vista.

Hoy en navegando en mis feeds me encuetro con una noticia en Xataka la cual me parece muy buena y es que Intel esta trabajando en un UMPC el cual estara basado en un Linux para poder hacerle competencia a los UMPC basados ya en Win XP y Vista.

Un par de caracterisitcas seran: pantalla desde 4.5 a 6″ con resuluciones de 800×480 y 1024×600 y HSDPA y WiFi eso son los datos que se conocen hasta el momento, otra cosa interesante es que esta destinado para todos los usuarios no solo para los ejecutivos.

De que ratos queria probar Beryl por mi mismo para probar si era cierto todo lo que decian de los efectos 3D que tenia, no lo podia hacer porque ni notebook no tenia aceleradora grafica, pero hace mas o menos 1 mes cambie ni notebook por una Dell Latitud D620 y encontre Uberyl en el blog de Talishte, me emocione porque Uberyl esta orientado a Aceleradoras Graficas Intel, pero al inicial en Live Cd me daba el error de que no podia iniciar el X Server investigue, pregunte y nada es un error de Ubuntu 6.10, tons me dedique a buscar otra distribucion y es asi como llegue a Sabayon una distro basada en Gentoo (nada que ver con Debian Ubuntu) pero me anime a bajarla y al bootear con el Live DVD facilicimo me pregunto si queria activar la aceleracion grafica y al ingresar ya tenia Beryl corriendo y con una tarjeta Intel.

Asi que decidi instalarlo y aqui esta corriendo sobre mi Dell Latitud D620
